Microfilm Four: Wildfleur

The fourth and final microfilm category was ‘little’, and admittedly I found this one the hardest.

As I was trying to come up with an idea, I couldn’t seem to get the little french lullaby that my Nana used to sing to me out of my mind.┬áMy grandmother spent most of her childhood in France and this song has always been my fondest memory of her.

Funnily enough, when I translated it, the meaning behind it got me thinking about the effect that artificial compliments have had on me whilst growing up.

It may seem obvious, but it is easily forgotten, that teaching girls that appearance is the first thing we notice about them gives them the powerful message that looks are their most important quality.”
